The MARQ resumes the excavations of Laderas del Castillo with volunteers from the universities of Alicante and Murcia.

The new MARQ Educational Guide proposes interesting developments for the academic year 2020-21including the workshops via streaming, in a clear commitment to new technologies. This afternoon, the MARQ assembly hall will host the presentation of this proposal which, as every year, is prepared by the Unit of Didactics, Accessibility, Social Responsibility and Club Llumiq of the MARQ Foundation.

The online workshops will be complemented by introductions to the museum's permanent galleries and pupils will be able to access the necessary material beforehand via a link provided to teachers. In addition, the activities for Infant, Primary and Secondary Education have been updated so that they can be made available through the Virtual Online Classroom with MARQ'.from the corporate portal www.marqalicante.com. In the pre-school age group, the Iberian period, Roman culture and the Middle Ages will be dealt with; and in the primary and secondary age groups, Prehistory, the Iberians, Roman culture, the Middle Ages and the Modern Age. As far as time samples are concerned, The Terracotta Warriors of Xi'an'. will occupy the educational content from April to October 2021, coinciding with the permanence of the exhibition at MARQ.

The vice-president and deputy for Culture, Julia Parra, has valued "the quality and variety of the educational content tailored to each age group, from Primary to Secondary, and the adaptation to increasingly integrate digital resources which are, without a doubt, a great tool in the educational process".

The Online Classroom will connect teachers and students with the contents of the museum, sites and monuments, with different educational resources, activity proposals, games, stories, audiovisuals, workshops... without forgetting the didactic guides in Easy Reading and Pictograms. Another new feature is the Interactive Teaching Guides for secondary school students online, who can use any device to find high quality photographs, room videos, virtual tours, webinars given by the Unit and Museum staff, activity sheets in pdf format, videos of educational workshops, etc.

As for the courses of Teacher training the second conference on the Cultural Landscape of the Countryside and the Huerta of Alicantedirected by the MARQ archaeologist José Luis Menéndez.

In addition to this full programme of activities with the educational community, the MARQ Foundation will continue in this new academic year with the social and accessibility projects "MARQ+65" and "MARQ: Museum and Memory against Alzheimer's". which can also be held online, to continue sharing experiences, knowledge and ideas with our elders.

The MARQ's Programme of Educational Activities, Accessibility and Social Responsibility has enjoyed the collaboration of the La Caixa Banking Foundation and Caixabank since the 2016-17 academic year, an agreement recently renewed for the 2020-21 academic year, which will be presented this afternoon, with the attendance of Ms. Maria Tomasa Rives, Commercial Director of Caixabank in the Valencia Region.
