MARQ kicks off its Christmas programme with the lighting of the tree and a tribute to the healthcare sector

 

The lighting of the MARQ tree will welcome this year's Christmas festivities with a recognition of the work carried out by the health sector in the face of the Covid-19 crisis. The alaucaria that presides over the museum's gardens will be illuminated this evening at 18:00 and will give way to fun cultural activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The President of the Diputación de Alicante, Carlos Mazónand the first vice-president and deputy for culture, Julia Parrawill take part in the event, which will be hosted by the President of the College of Physicians, Maribel Moyaand by the vice-president of the College of Nursing, Francisco Gómezwho will receive the tribute on behalf of both groups.

Children's drawings, the wishing well, the royal letterbox and the mascot's ball Llumiq will fill the evening with music and colour, which will also be attended by the managing director of the Fundación Marq, José Alberto Cortésthe Museum's director, Manuel Olcina and the director of the Department of Culture of the Diputación de Alicante, María José Argudo

This year the Didactic Unit of the MARQ Foundation has programmed, together with the Culture Department, sessions of Christmas children's theatre and face-to-face workshops for children aged between 5 and 12 to learn how to make a Christmas flower, a bonbonniere and a Three Kings' crown. In addition, they will also be able to access other online activities where they will be able to build a Christmas mobile and original Christmas cutlery trays.
