The MARQ+65 Project returns to the Museum in person with training sessions until 4 June

 

 The Archaeological Museum of Alicante has once again welcomed the participants of the Project MARQ+65, an initiative developed with Aulas de la tercera Edad de Alicante' (Alicante Senior Classrooms) (ASAUTE), which contributes to the cultural and social growth of older peopleas well as intergenerational dialogue.

They are fulfilled five years since the CV MARQ Foundation The aim of the project is to enhance the experience of older people by promoting the interpersonal relations and coexistence in their own city.

This edition of MARQ +65 began in October 2020 in the dual online and face-to-face mode, and training sessions will be held until 4 June.The museum's content from Prehistory to the Modern and Contemporary Ages, with restricted seating capacity in compliance with all the health measures in force, will be on display. The proposal includes visits to the permanent galleries, talks on certain aspects of the different cultures present in our lands, workshops, practical sessions, as well as visits to the different archaeological sites of the MARQ.

The lectures in the calendar cover varied and entertaining content about the archaeologythe history of Alicante through tours of the old town and the traditional centre, or the cinemawith films or historical series that provide a more didactic and entertaining way of learning about major milestones.

This programme consolidates a long-term project whose main objective is to bring the Museum closer to the elderly by involving them in cultural life, so that they feel that they are part of the Museum. the MARQ as a closer, more open and interesting space. The MARQ, since 2016, has also become for the students of ASAUTE, a training space where they can actively learn about the rich historical heritage of Alicante.
