MARQ hosts the welcoming ceremony of the Western Mediterranean 5+5 Dialogue Forum headed by the Minister Yolanda Díaz

The First Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parrareceived this afternoon at the Archaeological Museum of Alicante the Second Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Labour and Social Economy, Yolanda Díazand to the working heads and representatives of the 'Western Mediterranean 5+5 Dialogue Forum' of which they are members Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Malta, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia, whose Presidency in 2021 falls on our country. The visit is part of the programme arranged by the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy to coincide with the Forum's working sessions that will take place tomorrow at Casa Mediterráneo.

Julia Parra thanked "the interest shown in the MARQ, one of our cultural jewels, and its successful exhibition 'Etruscans. The dawn of Rome'. With this outstanding presence it is confirmed once again that we have a first class museum and that everything that is done in it is earning the respect and consideration of the public and also at an institutional level".

At the welcoming ceremony held at MARQ, the vice-president Yolanda Díaz and the ministers of the 5+5 Dialogue Forum were accompanied by the managing director of the CV-MARQ Foundation, José Alberto Cortésand by the director of MARQ, Manuel Olcina. The tour, both through the rooms of the permanent collection and the temporary exhibition on Etruscans, was also attended, the President of the Generalitat, Ximo PuigThe event was attended by the Secretary of State for Employment and Social Economy, Joaquín Pérez, the subdelegate of the Government in Alicante, Araceli Poblador, the Autonomous Secretary for the European Union and External Relations of the Generalitat, Joan Calabuig and the Secretary of Casa Mediterráneo, José Manuel Molina.

In 2021, Spain holds the presidency of the 5+5 Dialogue Forum created in 1990 and, in this context, the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy has been in charge of organising the ministerial meeting taking place in Alicante. The meeting also aims to promote cooperation between countries, strengthen ties and share experiences and good practices.
