The Gladiators exhibition bids farewell to MARQ this weekend with open days

The MARQ will close the international exhibition this weekend. Gladiators. Heroes of the Coliseum'. with two open days tomorrow Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November. The exhibition, inaugurated last April, has received in these months nearly 100,000 visitsexceeding all expectations.

The Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parrainvited all Alicante residents and visitors "to enjoy this exhibition for the last time with these free days with which we want to say goodbye to an international exhibition that has been a great success, as evidenced by the 100,000 visits that have been received in just seven months since it opened on 13 April".

The Gladiators continue to exert a considerable fascination on the public who have visited the exhibition and have been able to get a closer look at the world of the Gladiators. gladiatura marked by specialisation, training, discipline, rules and dangers, but also by hope, fame, redemption and even wealth and freedom..

Some of the most important cultural institutions in Italy have collaborated in this exhibition, such as the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and the National Roman Museum in Romethe Archaeological Park of the Colosseum in Romethe Paestum e Velia Archaeological Park in Paestumthe  Archaeological Park of the Roman Amphitheatre and Antiquarium "Alda Levi" in Milanthe National Archaeological Museum of Aquileiathe Civic Museum of Rieti and the Sopraintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio for the metropolitan city of Bologna e le province di Modena, Regio Emilia e Ferrara.

The opening hours of the open days are as follows 10:00 to 19:00 on Saturday and 10:00 to 14:00 on Sunday.. It is also foreseen that reenactors from the Hispania Romana Association carry out various historical re-enactment activities to entertain the public in the gardens of the museum on Saturday, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
