MARQ commemorates the festivities of 6 and 8 December with two open days

The Archaeological Museum of the Provincial Council of Alicante will be holding two open days for the public on 6 and 8 December. Access will be free both at the museum centre and at the sites of Lucentum in Alicante and La Illeta dels Banyets in El Campello and the Almudaina Tower.
The vice-president and deputy for Culture, Julia Parra, confirmed that "throughout 2022 the MARQ has organised a total of twelve days of free access with the aim of making one of the best archaeological museums in our country known to the widest possible public, which in recent years has been climbing positions within the circuits of cultural tourism".
The open days, included in the calendar and annual action plan of the CV MARQ Foundation and approved by its Board of Trustees, will be held in the morning, from 10 am to 2 pm, except in the case of the Almudaina Tower, which will close at 1 pm.
The initiative aims to facilitate access to the culture and heritage treasured by the museum and the MARQ's archaeological sites and monuments to all those who visit the province during these holidays. It is also a complementary activity aimed at the public of Alicante.
On this occasion, once the international exhibition "Gladiators. Heroes of the Coliseum", the focus will be on the museum's permanent exhibition. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit the Prehistoric, Iberian, Roman Culture and Late Antiquity, Middle Ages and Modern and Contemporary, as well as the three thematic rooms of Field, Urban and Underwater Archaeology.
