A flashmob and educational workshops are the focus of the activities to commemorate World Down Syndrome Day at MARQ.

Once again this year, MARQ will be holding a special programme of activities which, on this occasion, will include a dance performance based on the theme Fleur East of the artist Sax. The gardens of the museum will host this choreography performed by the group of young people taking part in the Down Alicante Dance and Movement Programme. At the end of the flashmobthe Didactics and Accessibility Unit of the CV Foundation MARQ will organise different workshops for all attendees. 

The Fundación CV MARQ is collaborating in the celebration of this day with the Down Alicante Associationwith which it has had a collaboration agreement for ten years. This association was created in 1996 by a group of parents willing to improve the future of people with Down's Syndrome.

World Down Syndrome Day

The UN General Assembly designated 21 March as World Down Syndrome Day with the aim of raising public awareness and remembering the importance of Down syndrome. inherent dignity, worth and valuable contributions of persons with intellectual disabilities as advocates for the well-being and diversity of their communities.It also stresses the importance of their individual autonomy and independence, in particular the freedom to make their own decisions.
