The MARQ-Museo Arqueológico de Alicante and the Fundación CV MARQ express their condolences for the death of the deceased. of our colleague and friend Antonio Sánchez Pérez, who from 1995 to 2004 was in charge of coordinating the activities of the Didactic area of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante and the Lucetum archaeological park.
Antonio had a solid teaching career, having worked as a teacher for the hearing impaired at the Provincial Home for many years, until he was transferred to the Archaeological Museum on the ground floor of the Provincial Palace in 1995.
His teaching profile allowed him to adapt to the demands of a museum and a growing staff and to participate in the technical team that drew up and developed the project of the current MARQ. Since its inauguration in 2002, Antonio Sánchez has dedicated himself with will and enthusiasm to transmit to all sectors of society, young people, the elderly, people with disabilities, the exciting world of archaeology, sometimes difficult to disseminate if you do not have a person of his training and value.
His retirement in 2004 allowed him to continue to devote himself to his other passion, reading, as one of the coordinators of the LEO Group for Pedagogical Renewal and Encouragement of Reading, and to maintain continuous contact with the activities, exhibitions and events organised by the MARQ, to which he was a regular participant. The enormous sympathy and quality human that he treasured made him very special for those who knew him and had the privilege of working with him. With our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.
May the earth be light to you, Antonio.
