The international exhibition "The Legacy of the Qin and Han Dynasties, China. The Warriors of Xi'an" has received the second runner-up prize in the EXPONE 2023 Awards in the category of best national exhibition project, promoted by the Association of Museologists and Museographers of Andalusia (AMMA), as part of the third edition of these prestigious awards that promote best practices and innovation in museums and exhibitions.
The award was collected in Malaga by the Deputy for Culture of the Provincial Council of Alicante and Vice-President of the MARQ Foundation, Juan de Dios Navarro, who stressed that "this award is recognition of the work that both the Foundation and the Archaeological Museum of the Provincial Council of Alicante are doing to place the MARQ in the circuit of exhibition excellence of museums at a national and international level".
The jury of the EXPONE awards has recognised the design and exhibition narrative of the Xi'an Warriors at the MARQ to award it the second runner-up prize in its category, together with the exhibition "The Catalá. Photographers of a century" of the Museum of the History of Catalonia and the National Archive of Catalonia, with the collaboration of the Architects' Association of Catalonia, awarding the First Prize to the exhibition "IA Museum. The Museum rescued from oblivion" of the Museum of Palencia, belonging to the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Government of Spain and the Regional Government of Castilla y León.
The EXPONE Awards are promoted by the Association of Museologists and Museographers of Andalusia with the collaboration of, among others, the Andalusian Regional Government, the Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage, the Spanish Association of Museologists, the State Network of Museums and Digital Strategies (REMED), the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the CM Malaga and the Cities & Museums International Trade Fair.
"The Legacy of the Qin and Han Dynasties, China. The warriors of Xi'an" produced and promoted by the CV MARQ Foundation, the Provincial Council of Alicante, the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante, MARQ, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of Shaanxi, the Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Centre, together with nine museums and institutions of the P.R. China, with the collaboration of the ASISA and La Caixa Foundations. Opened to the public on 28 March 2023, it will remain in Alicante until 28 January 2024. The exhibition has already been visited by more than 68,000 people.
