The 8th edition of 'MARQ: Museum and Memory' once again opens the doors of the museum to Alzheimer's patients.

The eighth edition of the 'MARQ: Museum and Memory'. that drives the CV MARQ Foundationin collaboration with the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's patients (AFA), kicked off this morning with the visit of a twenty users of the day centre that has accessed the international exhibition "The Legacy of the Qin and Han Dynasties, China. The warriors of Xi'an".

As the deputy for Culture recalled, Juan de Dios NavarroThis initiative "was born in 2016 as a pioneering project in Spain, offering a programme aimed at making the permanent galleries of the MARQ, with the collections it holds and exhibits, accessible to people affected by this disease".

The proposal, aimed at bringing the contents of the MARQ closer to people with Alzheimer's disease, is an initiative focused on improving the quality of life of those suffering from this disease by stimulating memory through the use of visiting the museum, taking part in adapted workshops and enjoying new experiences in a different environment.. It is, in short, the visit to both the permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibitions MARQ, as well as the subsequent holding, in the facilities of AFA Alicante, of the specific educational workshops on the theme of the visits to the museum.

In this new edition the activities will focus on "The legacy of the Qin and Han dynasties. The warriors of Xi'an" and will be aimed at AFA Alicante users with a mild to moderate degree of deterioration and aged between 60 and 90 years old. The programme designed by the teams of the Didactic and Accessibility Unit of the MARQ Foundation and the specialists, neuropsychologist and occupational therapists of AFA.shall consist of 24 sessionsdivided between guided visits to the MARQ exhibitions on Mondays and educational workshops at the AFA centre.
