The President of the Diputación de Alicante, Toni PérezThis morning, he received a delegation from Shannxi Provincial Government on the occasion of the exhibition of the Xi'an Warriors at the MARQ. The delegation was led by the vice-chairman of the standing committee of the People's Assembly of Shannxi Province, Zhuang ChangxingHe toured the facilities of the Provincial Palace and then visited the international exhibition that opened last March at the Archaeological Museum.
Toni Perez agreed with his Chinese counterpart that culture is the best bridge for closer relations between the two countries and, in this way, encourage the link to extend to other areas. "Alicante is a very diverse province in its productive fabric and we have a lot to offer to strengthen a union that has begun thanks to the exhibition of the warriors of Xi'an and that, I am sure, will evolve in all senses," said Pérez.
Likewise, as the president of Alicante also recalled, this latest international proposal of the MARQ, "has offered us the opportunity to admire the millenary Chinese culture and to get to know in more detail the idiosyncrasy of this Asian country, its customs and traditions". For his part, Changxing has conveyed to the provincial government his predisposition to to strengthen the cultural and commercial exchange between Alicante and Shannxi.China is a historically and economically important region of China, home to more than 40 million people.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy for Culture, Juan de Dios Navarroand other representatives of the Provincial Government of Shannxi, have exchanged pieces of art. Toni Perez has given a replica of a bust-shaped cauldron of an Iberian deity found in Benidorm and the delegation of the Asian country, for its part, has given the Alicante institution a tapestry depicting the silk road that departed from Xi'an and a book signed by the president of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.
