The international exhibition The Legacy of the Qin and Han Dynasties, China. The warriors of Xi'an, on display at the Archaeological Museum of the Provincial Council of Alicante, has been visited by nearly 200,000 people after seven months of its exhibition at the MARQ since its inauguration on 28 March.
The exhibition offers more than 120 pieces and sets of these originals, some of them exhibited for the first time to the public outside China, of all kinds of materials, stone, jade, gold, bronze, ceramics, etc. among which the 9 terracotta sculptures of the warriors of Xi'an and a horse, from the Mausoleum of the First Emperor, together with the figures of the warriors and animals from the Han mausoleum, stand out. These unique pieces can now be seen at MARQ until 28 January 2024, thanks to the collaboration of nine Chinese museums, such as the Shaanxi Museum and the Emperor's Mausoleum Museum in Xi'an.
The Terracotta Warriors of Xi'an, declared a World Heritage Site in 1987 and Prince of Asturias Award for Science in 2010, among other distinctions, are, without a doubt, the stars of the Exhibition, which is generating great interest among both the national and international public, with Madrid, Valencia, Castile-La Mancha, Castile and Leon, and Andalusia, in that order, being the communities of greatest origin of the national visitors to the exhibition, and with regard to international visitors, those from the USA, Great Britain, France and Nordic countries.
The Terracotta Warriors will remain in Alicante for three months, coinciding with their closure on 28 January 2024.
