Christmas kicks off at MARQ with the lighting of the tree, workshops, dances and activities for families on Tuesday, December 5th.

Christmas will begin at MARQ on Tuesday 5th December with the lighting of the museum tree and the celebration of workshops, dances and activities programmed by the Fundación CV MARQ for families.

From 17:30 the MARQ gardens will host the chestnut tree, various workshops to make ornaments for the Christmas tree, a wishing ball and a letter to the Three Wise Men accompanied by Llumiq, the MARQ mascot, who, together with Olaf, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will cheer up the children who take part in the games and workshops, and enjoy the 360º selfie and the hot chocolate.

The lighting of the MARQ tree marks the start of the Christmas programme, which will include an open day on Wednesday 6 December from 10am to 2pm, with access to the galleries until one hour before the museum closes.

During the Christmas school holidays, the Didactics, Accessibility, Club Llumiq and PR unit of the MARQ Foundation has programmed educational workshops at the museum with games and Christmas workshops on the temporary exhibition The Legacy of the Qin and Han Dynasties, China. The Warriors of Xi'an, for children between 6 and 12 years old, with free registration at the museum ticket offices.

From 27 to 29 December there will be children's theatre in the Marq hall with free admission until full capacity is reached.

In addition, this year Exponadal will also have its own MARQ stand, in a large themed space where the Warriors of Xi'an will be the protagonists of the workshops for children who come to the Institución Ferial Alicantina, IFA Firalacant, from 26 to 30 December and from 2 to 4 January, from 10:30 to 20:30.
