The influx of visitors has led MARQ to extend its opening hours until 20.00 tomorrow Sunday to bid farewell to The Warriors of Xi'an.

The MARQ will be extended tomorrow, Sunday, until 8 p.m. your visiting hours for the exhibition "The Legacy of the Qin and Han Dynasties, China. The warriors of Xi'an". the influx of visitors to the museum today during the first of the two days of the open days that have been programmed to bid farewell to this international exhibition, the most visited in its history.

"Today visitors have packed the Museum, which has led us to decide to extend by one hour the visiting hours scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday -the last day to see the exhibition- and thus give everyone the opportunity to enjoy it, while complying with the capacity and ensuring the safety of the pieces," explained the director of the MARQ Foundation, Josep Albert CortésThe MARQ will be open on Sunday 28 January from 10:00 to 20:00.

In this sense, from 7:00 a.m. this morning there were people waiting in the queue, finally gaining access to the museum. 2,747 visitors came to see the exhibition throughout the day. A further 400 people who remained in the queue this afternoon have been invited to visit tomorrow due to capacity constraints.

The exhibition of the Xi'an Warriors has reached record figuresbecoming the most visited in MARQ's historybecause more than 260,000 people have been able to enjoy the millenary terracotta figures during their ten months of exhibition.

The MARQ had programmed the open days on 27 and 28 January, initially from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., to provide free access to the exhibition as an opportunity for the public to see the exhibition. "Fiesta de la Cultura" (Culture Festival). Visitors can browse through the three rooms and admire this exceptional proposal, curated by Dr. Marcos Martinón-TorresInternational reference in terracotta army research, professor at the University of Cambridge and winner of the 2018 National Science Prize in China for his work at the First Emperor's Mausoleum Site.

The exhibition, which includes more than 120 works from nine Chinese museums and institutions and shows the history of ancient China, was inaugurated last March, amidst great expectation, coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of relations diplomatic relations between Spain and the People's Republic of China and the 49th Anniversary of the discovery of the Mausoleum of the First Emperor. National and international media reported on the event, which was attended by, among other authorities, dthe Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism.
