More than 120 children hospitalised at Dr Balmis in Alicante take part in the MARQ's educational programme

The programme A fairytale hospital from MARQ has concluded its twelfth edition with the participation of more than 120 children hospitalised at the centre Doctor Balmis of Alicante.

The proposal, with the collaboration of the Fundación CV MARQ, its Didactics, Accessibility, Club Llumiq and Social Responsibility Unitas well as the Paediatrics Service and the Hospital Pedagogical Unit of the General Hospital of Alicante Doctor Balmisis aimed at providing a working space for the benefit of children on long term care to make their stay more bearable and pleasant.

During every Tuesday from October to Junethe Didactics team of the MARQ Foundation has developed thirty-five working sessionsThe aim of the event was to inform these children about the history of our province and the temporary exhibitions housed in the Museum by means of talks, educational workshops, games, storytelling and dramatised visits.

The Deputy for Culture, Juan de Dios Navarrosaid he was very satisfied with the development of this year's edition and recalled that "The museum is a pioneer in terms of accessibility and social responsibility and with this project we reaffirm our commitment to facilitate access to culture for all sectors of Alicante society".  

The course that is now coming to an end has had a theme related to the international exhibition on the Warriors of Xi'anexhibited at MARQ from March 2023 to January 2024. Archaeology and the different historical periods that can be visited in the MARQ Halls have also been the subject of study with amusing proposals.
