This meeting, organised in collaboration with the Costa Blanca Tourist Board, the C.V. Foundation. MARQ Foundation, Beniarrés Town Council and the Provincial Council of Alicante, has as its main objective to explore and discuss strategies to preserve and disseminate the historical and cultural heritage of the municipality, among which the project to enhance the archaeological site of "La Cova de l'Or" stands out, an international reference in Neolithic research, in the task of using this exceptional enclave to trace tourist routes that connect it with the rest of the town's heritage and cultural resources and strengthen its economic and social development, generating new opportunities in the fight against depopulation in rural areas.
The symposium programme includes various presentations by specialists in tourism and cultural management, as well as in the management of European funds, in addition to activities aimed at highlighting the potential of the Cova de l'Or to develop a sustainable tourism strategy that respects the natural environment and promotes a greater connection between the inhabitants of Beniarrés and its cultural heritage, as well as between those who live in neighbouring towns, implementing joint synergies with the important archaeological, monumental and building heritage of the region, with such outstanding elements as the Almohad Tower of Almudaina, the Castell de Planes, the Castell de l'Orxa, the Castell de Penella and the Castell de Cocentaina, among others, or the Cava Gran de Agres, the Cave Paintings of the Pla de Petracos in Castell de Castells or those of the Vall de Gallinera.
