The Member of Parliament for Architecture, Carmen Selléshas visited the site of The Cova de l'Or in Beniarrés after the completion of the archaeological site's heritage enhancement work subsidised by the provincial institution with 242,000 euros.
After concluding the musealisation works of the so-called "Hall of Columns of the Neolithic sanctuary, the Cova de l'Or opened its doors to the public this weekend and hung up the "no tickets" sign. This prehistoric cultural space has a new route, which extends the existing one by 35 metres, and complements with scenography, lighting and sound the sensory experience offered inside. This marks the culmination of a new stage since the museumisation of the enclave was materialised in 2021 thanks to the commitment and will of the Provincial Council and the Beniarrés Town Council.

"Our work as a provincial institution is to be at the side of the municipalities and support their work, their investments and their projects to consolidate and promote the rich architectural and cultural legacy that we treasure in our territory, as is, in this case, one of the most exceptional sites in the province," said the deputy.
The opening of the cave to the public, as well as the subsequent conservation work and the latter of musealisation, has been possible thanks to the project developed in the Department of Architecture and through the Archaeological Museum of Alicante and directed by the architects Rafael Pérez e Iván Martíneztogether with MARQ archaeologists, Jorge A. Soler and Consuelo Roca de Togores. The actions have also included equipping the new path with information panels and a scenography that develops relevant themes such as the funerary use of the cave, the ritual of the sanctuary, domestic life or the geological formation of the cave.
During these three years since its opening and according to the data provided by the Fundación C.V. MARQ, which manages the visits to the cave, more than 2,500 people have enjoyed the access and the tour. inside this site, which has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. Guided tours of the site and museum, by prior arrangement, are available on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. from 09:00 to 14:00, with departures to the cave at 09:00 and 11:30.
