Presentation of the book "THE ISLAMIC BRONCES OF DENIA (S. VHG/XIDC)".

The Head of the Excavations and Collections Unit of the MARQ and author of the book, Rafael Azuar, presented it in the plenary hall of the Town Hall of Denia, last Thursday 23rd at 8pm, in an event with a large public attendance, chaired by the Councillor for Culture, Josefa Font Reus and by the Deputy for Culture, Juan Bautista Roselló, with the presence of the director of the Archbishop Loaces de Orihuela Chair of the University of Alicante, Gregorio Canales, the director of the Archaeological Museum of the City of Denia, Jose Antonio Gisbert, and Juan Zozaya Stabel-Hansen, who was deputy director of the National Archaeological Museum and as an expert in the archaeology of al-Andalus, analysed the values and importance of this research for the knowledge of Islamic metalwork in general and in particular of this exceptional set of Fatimid bronzes, unique in the Peninsula and in the western Mediterranean.

With the publication of this book, the Diputación de Alicante through its Archaeological Museum and the Fundación CV MARQ join in the commemorative events of the thousandth anniversary of the Taifa of Denia.
