The exhibition"Lords of Heaven and Earth. China in the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD)", which has been on display at the Museo Arqueológico de Alicante since last June, MARQ, has received to date a total of 17,664 visitors. The majority were tourists from Alicante, reaching a total of 13,500 people. The rest of the attendees came from other Spanish provinces, such as Madrid, Valencian Community -Castellón and ValenciaCastilla La Mancha, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla Leon, Andalusia and Catalonia. There has also been a significant number of visitors from countries such as France, Great Britain, Eastern Europe, the Netherlands and the Nordic countries, America, Italy and Germany.
On the other hand, many of the people who have visited this exhibition have done so in the spirit of the guided tourswhich are organised during the summer from Tuesday to Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and at 8:30 p.m.. from Tuesday to Saturday, and for the dramatised shows that the MARQ offers every Saturday afternoon starting at 19:30h.
Another of the attractions for visitors over the August long weekend in the province of Alicante were the four open days at the Almudaina Tower organised to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its opening to the public, thanks to which 111 persons have been able to discover the beauty of this fortress originating from the first half of the 13th century anddeclared an Asset of Cultural Interest.
The collection "Lords of Heaven and Earth. China in the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD)", will remain at MARQ until next January The exhibition is structured in four blocks that guide the visitor through an interesting journey through time. The exhibition consists of something more than 250 pieces from different collections and recovers the story,customs and secrets of this crucial dynastic period in the history of China, which was characterised by great political influence, economic flourishing and extraordinary cultural development for almost 400 years.
