The MARQ launches a 'virtual school' with a hundred educational publications for all levels of education

The Didactics and Accessibility Unit of the MARQ Foundation has launched a new programme, under the slogan "Dreams from my WindowThe project is aimed at schoolchildren throughout Spain who remain confined to their homes in the face of the health crisis caused by COVID-19. The first vice-president of the Diputación de Alicante and deputy for Culture, Julia Parrainvited the educational community "to participate in this new national initiative which aims to provide new alternatives for learning in a relaxed way and makes available numerous resources aimed at different levels, from 3 to 18 years of age".

With this initiative, MARQ gets closer to the youngest, sharing with their families and with the help of the teachers a common place of learning and entertainment. A proposal that aims to become a large virtual school to address subjects that form part of the curriculum, with about 100 publications of didactic material for all cycles, Pre-school, Special Education, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate.

The deputy for Culture explained that "the project has been promoted in recognition and gratitude to the educational communityThe exhibition is aimed both at the teachers and students who regularly collaborate with the Alicante museum, and at the parents who are going through such difficult times for all of us". In this sense, one of the central themes invites reflection and reviews the extremely difficult events that have been overcome by our ancestors throughout history. Those interested can participate in this initiative by contacting the Didactic Unit of the MARQ Foundation and downloading the rules that have been uploaded on the internet: MARQ-aula on line.www.marqalicante.com

"Dreams from my Window" is a complementary initiative to the activities that the museum has been sharing every day, since 16 March, on its website www.marqalicante.com, with attractive videos and posts so that the public, especially the younger ones, can learn and carry out different proposals related to historical and archaeological heritage through #Stay at home with MARQ. The aim is to make the contents of the museum, archaeological sites and monuments available to users through different actions such as reviews of pieces, temporary exhibitions, educational workshops and hobbies, as well as with the winning stories of the project "The stories of the MARQ". "The stories are an interesting tool to bring us closer to the extraordinary cultural legacy received from our ancestors, at the same time as they encourage reading and creativity", he pointed out.
