Visits to the Interpretation Centre and to the site of the Cova de l'Or, at Beniarrésmanaged from the MARQ in collaboration with the town council, resume this weekendon 11 and 12 September, by prior appointment through the museum website of the Diputación de Alicante. The facilities will also be open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for schools.

The Cova de l'Or in Beniarrés is open to the public. 675 metres above sea level on the southern slope of the reliefs that make up the Sierra del Benicadell mountain range. It contains a archaeological site of enormous importance for the knowledge and research of the Neolithic of the Mediterranean façade of the Iberian Peninsula. The quality and significance of the archaeological material found in the excavations The results of research carried out since the 1930s suggest that the cave was a place of social reference for the settlers of Mediterranean origin who, in the mid-6th millennium BC, introduced agriculture and livestock farming into these valleys.
The site and the renovated Interpretation Centre were opened to the public for the first time on 11 June last and have received a total of 525 visitors until 27 June. This weekend it will reopen at the same time. 9:00 to 14:00 hours and 17:00 to 20:00 hours on Saturdayswith departures in a vehicle to reach the area around the Cova de l'Or at 9:00, 11:30 and 17:00.
