The Archaeological Museum of Alicante kicks off the Christmas season with the lighting of the tree

  

 

 

The MARQ will inaugurate the Christmas festivities this afternoon. with the traditional tree lighting and a full evening of activities for the whole family. Starting at 19:00 hoursthe central courtyard of the museum will once again be the stage for another year of the workshops, dances and a fun photocallamong other proposals.

         The First Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parrawill be in charge of lighting the Christmas decoration of the imposing monkey puzzle tree that presides over the central courtyard of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, an event that marks the beginning of Christmas activities this 2021-2022. The head of Culture has pointed out that "in this symbolic act with which we welcome these special dates of Advent, I would like to launch a message of hope. May we be able to say that our best wishes have been fulfilled".

The lighting ceremony will also be attended by the managing director of the MARQ Foundation, José Alberto Cortésand the director of the museum, Manuel Olcina. As in previous editions, those attending this emotional afternoon will be able to enjoy a Christmas themed photocall with Father/Mother Christmas and his elves, children's workshops, dance with the mascot Llumiq, Wishing Well, Buzón Real, the Colla de Dolçaina i Tabalet Sant Antoni d'Alacant, the traditional chestnut stand and music..
