DELTEBRE I. THE STORY OF A SHIPWRECK
This guide illustrates the discovery and study of a wreck (sunken ship) from the early 19th century, called "Deltebre I", which took part in an operation to besiege the city of Tarragona during the War of Independence (1808-1814). This find has a close and direct relationship with Alicante, as the military expedition departed from and returned to the port of Alicante. Among the finds from this sunken ship are an uncorked bottle of Fondillón de Alicante wine, as well as equipment, objects belonging to the crew and abundant war material.
