THE BEAUTY OF THE BODY. ART AND THOUGHT IN ANCIENT GREECE
The information and activities provided are aimed primarily at the Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and Baccalaureate (Bachillerato) stages. This teaching material summarises four thematic blocks on Ancient Greece: Evolution of the male and female ideal of beauty; Everyday life; Ancient Olympic Games with detailed information on athletes and sporting events; Religion and mythology. This outline is complemented by a preliminary introduction on the geographical context and an outline of Greek art. The activities in this case are conceived as tests of an Olympiad with scores in each of them giving an overall mark and thus the awarding of a "medal".
