Vessel with a wide, thickened rim on the outside, with a cylindrical neck connected to the body by a pronounced rim. The body is elongated and ends in a solid pivot. The amphora is grasped by the two vertical ribbon handles that extend from the top of the neck to the shoulder. A complete restored piece, with the neck and pivot reintegrated.
Vessel with a capacity of 26/27 litres used for the maritime transport of wine. This type of amphora was originally produced in the potteries of the Tyrrhenian coast of the Italic peninsula, specifically in the regions of Etruria, Latium and Campania (HESNARD et alii, 1989), although within a few decades they also began to be made in the workshops of southern Gaul (LAUBENHEIMER, 1989: 116) and Tarraconensis (RAYNAUD, 1993: 85).
