Silver Historical Fund Collection h: 31.5 cm; w: 9.7 cm; h: 7.4 cm 1911
Silver palette in its colour with triangular shape, rounded profile and tip. Cylindrical handle with thickening at the distal end and moulding at the end where it joins the palette. Decorated with commemorative engraving on the obverse with the following inscription in capital letters: "H.M. THE KING D. ALFONSO XIII INAUGURATED THE WORK ON THE STRATEGIC RAILWAY FROM VILLAJOYOSA TO DENIA WITH THIS PALLET ON 13 FEBRUARY 1911". Triple silverware marking located at the end of the obverse side next to the junction of the handle, with the symbol of the town, Madrid, contrast and silversmith. The work of the Madrid-born artist Ramón Espuñes, probably trained at the Real Fábrica de Platería de Madrid.
This palette, similar to other commemorative palettes, was made for the inauguration of the narrow-gauge railway works linking the towns of Alicante and Denia, which was attended by King Alfonso XIII.
