The project began on 1 January 2023 and will run until 31 December 2024, with the participation of the Universities of Murcia, Almería, Granada, Castilla-La Mancha, Santiago de Compostela, UNED and Valladolid, together with the museums and cultural centres: ARQUA, Fundación C.V. MARQ, Mula, Red Museística de Lugo, Arqueológico Nacional, Pontevedra, Pobo Galego and the Archive of Euskadi. With two fundamental objectives: the first is to transfer research and knowledge to the ongoing training of teachers, creating a training programme and evaluating its effectiveness, and the second is to transfer it to the educational community through activities designed jointly by the participating museums and cultural centres, and to implement them in school visits, so that it is they and their teachers who value these activities.

The International Conference on Museums and Education during these days will focus on to promote the creation of alternative narratives on social issues based on cultural heritage in collaboration between the departments of education and didactics of museums, university research groups and innovative secondary education teachers; with the presentation of learning situations based on educational resources to work on various SDGs, mainly those of gender equality, reduction of inequalities, or health and well-being. The head of the Didactics and Accessibility Unit of the MARQ Foundation, Gema Sala Pérez, will participate in the Panel of Experts on Thursday 4 July together with Professors Marcos Rebollo from IES Valle del Saja (Cabezón de la Sal, Cantabria) and Juan Ramón Moreno from the University of Murcia and Isabel Víctor from the Sporting Museum in Lisbon (Portugal), coordinated by Maria Jesús Rubio from the National Archaeological Museum.
