Necropolis of Cabezo Lucero (Guardamar del Segura) Vitreous paste h: 6.5 cm; w. 4.1 cm: 4'1 cm Ancient Iberian Late 5th century BC.
A small closed vessel made of vitreous paste that attempts to reproduce a miniature amphora, showing its main features. It has an ovoid body with a high, gently curved shoulder, a short, narrow cylindrical neck and a slightly curved, thickened rim with a rounded lip. The lower part of the neck is topped by a small button that serves as a pivot. Two tiny vertical handles join the shoulder to the upper part of the neck.
This delicate piece, most likely a container for perfumed oils or essences, is remarkable for its rich decoration, which is applied with paste threads in bright alternating colours (white, yellow and blue), forming parallel bands on the shoulder and lower third of the body, and a wide zigzag in the area of maximum diameter of the body.
