MARQ hosts a conference on the effects of the 2011 earthquake in the Archaeological Museum of Lorca

Director of the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Lorca Andrés Martínez Rodríguez will give the nextTuesday 17 April at 19:00 hours in the MARQ a conference on the consequences and effects that the May 2011 earthquake caused in the Murcian complex after.

During the talk, Martínez will explain to the attendees the damage caused by earth tremors The museum's collections and building and will explain how they have been affected. how repair work is currently being carried out of many of the damaged parts.

This initiative forms part of the complementary activities to the exhibition of the fragment of Roman mural painting from the village of La Quintilla which, following the earthquake in Lorca, has been restored in the laboratories of the Alicante complex and which will be held in the MARQ hall.

 

  

The President of the Alicante Provincial Council Luisa Pastor will present this exhibition on Tuesday 17 April, sponsored by the Cajamurcia Foundationwhich will remain in the Provincial Archaeological Museum for the next three months.

The MARQ Foundation has carried out this project with the aim of to collaborate in the recovery of the historical-artistic assets of the city of Lorca and of the collections deposited in its museum. which suffered significant damage due to the 2011 earthquake.
