The Archaeological Museum of Alicante hosted the wednesday 26 november at 18:00 hours the conference entitled "Chinese Culturewhich will be given by calligrapher and Chinese writing teacher Zonghui Xu.
The talk lasted about two hours and was structured around five themes, including a practical Chinese writing workshop in which attendees performed a calligraphic work. In addition, Professor Zonghui Xu addressed issues related to the Chinese philosophy and literature, focusing especially on currents such as the Confucianism and Taoism and in the poetic works of this country. He also devoted time to the study of pictorial works of the great Chinese masters and to study the origin and evolution of writing Chinese, analysing its five different styles.
This talk is part of the activities organised in the framework of the sample "Lords of Heaven and Earth. China in the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 BC)". which can be visited at MARQ until next year.11 January 2015.
Curriculum of Xu Zonghui
He graduated in 1981 in English Philology from Hangzhou Magisterial University in China, is a teacher of Chinese language and writing in various centres and schools in Madrid and has given many exhibitions and lectures on this subject in our country.
He has also published several books such as "La Pintura de Xu Zonghui", "Cantos de Amor y de Ausencia" bilingual Spanish-Chinese edition, and "Arte Abstracto Milenario- Caligrafía China". In addition, he has won several important calligraphy awards in his country and the Award for Contribution to Coexistence, Integration and Promotion of Friendship between Spain and China from the Community of Madrid.
