Today, 14 June, the National Day of Spanish Sign Languages is celebrated throughout Spain. The aim is to remember its importance for deaf people as a means of communication for interacting with the environment, transmitting ideas and emotions and accessing information and knowledge.
From MARQ we want to participate in the dissemination of this event in order to make society aware that sign language is just another official language.
The CV-MARQ Foundation currently has collaboration agreements with FESORD C.V and APESOA so that deaf people can access the archaeological content of the museum and its sites and participate in the activities that are carried out, helping to eliminate barriers and promoting participation citizenship.
Ghanks to the agreement signed with FESORD, the MARQ staff was able to attend the course ".Introduction to sign languageThe aim of the "Deaf and Hard of Hearing" project was to get closer to the reality of deaf people and to get to know, in a general way, concepts related to the reality of museums and, in particular, to the praxis of the MARQ. This has allowed us to approach in first person all the deaf people who come to visit our museum, its sites and monuments.
