VISIT OF THE ERASMUS + PROJECT PARTNERS TO CFPA MERCÈ RODOREDA

The Mercè Rodoreda Adult Education Centre hosted between 28th and 30th November in Elche the European partners of the Erasmus + MUSETEAM project in which it participates. This school started four years ago, with the help of Mr. José T. Pastor, a new educational project whose main objective is education through the creation of a School Museum of Science and Technology, which consists of more than 60 pieces corresponding to different works of the students of the school. Each creation explains the basics of science in a practical and fun way, thus offering a pioneering way of learning that will be replicated in other schools in Spain and the rest of Europe.

The museum is currently facing the challenge of introducing new improvements, such as enabling the development of emotional intelligence through the work carried out in the museum. To this end, it is counting, among others, on the invaluable help of the European partners of the MUSETEAM project: the Villaverde Adult Education Centre in Madrid, the Ludor Engineering Centre in Romania and Euroform RFS in Italy. In addition to the working meetings, these partners visited the School Museum of Pusol and the MUDIC of Orihuela, reference museums for the improvement activities to be carried out.

Another element for improvement is to achieve autonomous learning for pupils through the museum. This requires the improvement of the museum's contents, as well as the introduction of new technological elements that facilitate the learning of science and technology. In this respect, a meeting was held during the visit to Elche, with the participation of representatives from the following museums: Pusol School Museum, Orihuela Didactic Museum and the Museu de les Ciències de la Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències de València (Science Museum of the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia). We also have the help of the Didactics and Accessibility Unit of the MARQ Foundation. Archaeological Museum of Alicante, which is advising on the introduction of easy reading in the signage of the future School Museum.

The next planned meeting will take place in Romania and will include training on different technological elements such as 3D printing, construction of technology pieces for science and technology exhibits, 360° recording and solar energy. This training will be applied to the improvement of the museum and its dissemination through virtual reality applications.
