The MACA and the MARQ will hold the programme for the second year.

In 2018, the Didactics and Education Departments of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante (MACA) and the CV-MARQ Foundation initiated a training programme on the exchange of experiences that would allow us to discover ART through history. The great reception by the participants in that first edition encourages us to repeat the experience this 2019.

This year "Arte de ida y vuelta" offers guided tours and workshops at the MARQ and the MACA, for participants in the summer activities of both museums. The main objectives are to see how art has evolved throughout history and how this has conditioned it, to learn to appreciate art originating from other cultures and civilisations far from our geographical environment and how and where contemporary art comes from.

At MARQ, on Wednesday 17 July, visitors will be able to appreciate the scope of the Achaemenid Persian civilisation, its artistic and cultural achievements, its religion and its relationship with the history of the Mediterranean peoples and, above all, with Spain, as well as learning about the stages and forms of artistic expression in each historical period, before and after the Persian empire until the arrival of Islam.

At the MACA, on Wednesday 24 July, the participants of the "Arte de ida y vuelta" programme will have the opportunity to work on Geometry through colour. They will use colours as a means of expressing sensations, as a creative and innovative technique that will allow them to appreciate how the combination of tones and shades can create movement.

This summer the "Arte de Ida y vuelta" programme enables an exchange of practices, experiences and knowledge between two museums, the MARQ and the MACA, spaces that promote respect for Art and Heritage. Dynamic institutions that favour cultural and educational encounters and that cannot be understood without each other.
