World Autism Awareness Day in the MARQ

On 2 April, the World Autism Awareness Day  which this year gives visibility to people with disabilities. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and promotes the effective exercise of their rights.

The CV MARQ Foundation collaborates with the Asperger's Association of Alicante, ASPALIThe Didactics, Accessibility and Responsibility Unit has been developing different programmes for people with ASD for 10 years, during which time it has been developing different programmes for people with ASD.

The aim of these programmes is to use the museum, sites and monuments managed by the MARQ Foundation as a tool to foster social relations, self-esteem and motivation. These are key aspects in the development of people and for which the MARQ Foundation is responsible. In addition, common work spaces have been created between professionals, users and their families directly related to this disorder, while specific initiatives have been designed to respond to the needs and realities of this group. A commitment that includes the continuous exchange of experiences, as well as the promotion and development of new actions.

Already in 2022 the CV MARQ Foundation joined the programme. EMPOWER PARENTS:  a programme of cultural mediation, promoted by the ICO Foundation and the organisation EMPOWERwhich aims to promote access to culture for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. In this way, the MARQ becomes a space for interaction and exploration where families can share experiences and establish links between them in the four sessions we have held so far.
