The Cova de l'Or in Beniarrés resumes its cultural activity this weekend after the summer break.

  

The Cova de l'Or archaeological sitelocated in Beniarréstakes up this Saturday 9 September cultural activity after the summer break. The Fundación CV MARQ, together with the local council, manages this interesting proposal, which offers visitors a complete tour of both the Interpretation Centre and the site itself.

            The activity, available Saturdays and Sundays begins with a guided visit to the Interpretation Centre which includes a tour of the museum and the projection of a video to contextualise the space and its surroundings. From there, the itinerary continues by vehicle -included in the service offered-. to the start of the trail leading to the site.

After a short walking tour, and according to the rules of the guides, access to the interior of the cavewhere attendees receive a detailed explanation of the way of life, customs and practices of the people who lived there more than 7,000 years ago.

The Deputy for Culture, Juan de Dios NavarroHe explained that this initiative "helps us to highlight our rich archaeological and environmental heritage and also allows us to generate new opportunities in rural areas, preventing the depopulation of a municipality like Beniarrés with just over a thousand inhabitants, as since we launched this proposal in June 2021, more than 1,350 people have enjoyed it".

The Cova de l'Or is a archaeological site of international reference from the Neolithic period. which has been promoted as a site museum by the Provincial Council of Alicante, through the areas of Architecture and Culture. This process, which began in 2016, has included the improvement of the accesses and the conditioning of the exterior of the cave to facilitate visits. Other safety and accessibility measures have also been adopted with the installation of a walkway to access the interior.
