The Provincial Council of Alicante is carrying out, through the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), within the Archaeological Action Plan, a new research project that aims to study the Neolithic levels of the Cova del Randero, located in the Marina Alta region of the province of Alicante.
The team of archaeologists directing this project is formed by the co-directors Jorge A. Soler Díaz, Curator of Prehistory at MARQ and Consuelo Roca de Togores Muñoz, Collections Technician at MARQ, with the support of Pedreguer Town Council.
So far, two excavation campaigns have been carried out at the Cova del Randero, in September 2007 and 2008, with the participation of students and graduates from the University of Alicante. For next September, a team of 7 volunteers from the Universities of Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Alicante and the University of La Sapienza (Rome) will take part in the excavation ....
