DIDACTIC GUIDES IN IBOOKS
Here you can download the MARQ educational guides in iBook® format for iPad®. These are a set of 6 guides that show each room of the museum separately, from the Prehistoric Room to the Modern and Contemporary Age Room, including the Themed Rooms.
1. THE MARQ AND THE THEMATIC ROOMS
Teaching Guide for Secondary School. This booklet is divided into two parts. The first part explains what archaeology is and what MARQ is like (its layout, its internal workings, etc.). The second part explains the three thematic rooms that explain the archaeological methodology in different environments: in a cave (Field Archaeology), inside a medieval building (Urban Archaeology) and under the sea (Underwater Archaeology).
2. PREHISTORY
Didactic guide for Secondary School. This book begins the chronological journey through the history and archaeology of our province. You will learn about the different stages of our Prehistory: the Palaeolithic, the Neolithic and the Bronze Age (and the Orientalising period). You will also learn about the four styles of prehistoric art in the province of Alicante: Palaeolithic art and the three post-Palaeolithic styles (macro-schematic, Levantine and schematic).
3. IBEROS
Didactic guide for Secondary School. In this booklet you will learn about the different aspects of Iberian culture: daily life, the funerary world, the warrior's weapons, places of worship, sculpture, ceramics, writing...
4. ROMAN CULTURE
Didactic guide for Secondary School. With this booklet you will learn many aspects of the Roman world in our lands: daily life in the city of Lucentum, the necropolis and the rural villas around the city, the productive activities of the Romans (agriculture, salted fish and fish factories, trade and currency, etc.) ... and one of the "star" pieces of the MAR: the bronze hand found in the forum of Lucentum.
5. MIDDLE AGE
Didactic guide for Secondary School. The booklet dedicated to the Middle Ages tells the story of 10 centuries shared by two different cultures: the Muslim and the Christian. The Islamic period in our lands will be dealt with first, followed by the Christian feudal period.
6. MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY
This educational booklet takes a journey through the last centuries of our most recent history, beginning in the 16th century and ending in 1932, the year of the inauguration of the first archaeological museum in Alicante. It covers two stages of our history: Modern and Contemporary, and follows the chronological route of the exhibition, complemented with proposed exercises whose objectives are, among others, to interpret, recognise and reflect on the objects on display.
