Monuments
The CV MARQ Foundation holds the encomienda de gestión of two prominent monuments de la provincia rehabilitados y puestos en valor por el Área de Arquitectura de la Diputación Provincial: la Almudaina Tower and the Cava Gran de Agres, bienes inmuebles, convertidos en museos de sitio, vienen a enriquecer la oferta turístico-cultural del interior montañoso alicantino.
ALMUDAINA TOWER
The recovery and opening to the public of the monumental building that constitutes the Almudaina Towerdeclared Bien de Interés Cultural-BIC con categoría de Monumento, es reciente. Construida en la primera mitad del siglo XIII, es una de las muchas torres defensivas de alquería erigidas en la región oriental de al-Andalus poco antes de la conquista cristiana.
Abandoned for years, its last use had been as a dwelling. Acquired by the Provincial Council in 1999next to an adjoining property, facing Abadía street in the municipality of Almudaina, begins in 2006 the restoration and valorisation projectThe site has been complemented by archaeological excavations between 2007 and 2009. Rehabilitated as "site museum”, con un nuevo espacio urbano público, representa un potente recurso cultural al servicio de sus habitantes y de todos cuantos lo visiten. La intervención realizada en la torre propicia la lectura y el disfrute de su arquitectura, cuyos muros hablan por sí mismos y nos introducen en el conocimiento de su historia, que es la de Almudaina.

CAVA GRAN DE AGRES
The Cava Gran, has a singular significance because of the iconic character that its spectacular arcade has acquired, uno de los símbolos más identificables del Parque Natural de la Sierra de Mariola. La Cava Gran de Agres, es uno de los más destacados edificios que sirvieron a la ice industryThe last four hundred years have seen a large number of these constructions for the storage and deposit of snow. The province of Alicante contains an outstanding concentration of these constructions, most of them in the highest areas of the Sierra de Mariola.
En 2008 es adquirida por la Diputación Provincial in order to ensure its conservación y restauración. El esfuerzo técnico y económico desarrollado en los años posteriores, con las intervenciones realizadas en el pozo de nieve y su entorno, además de la nueva experiencia espacial, que ofrece la posibilidad de descender hasta el fondo del mismo, permiten desde 2016 poner a disposición de la sociedad este nuevo equipamiento cultural, rehabilitado como “site museum"The visit to the ice museum is a great opportunity to enjoy its architecture and the landscape to which it belongs, and to learn about the history of the ice industry, all of which is a further incentive to visit it.
