The workshop-visits are structured in two parts: a theoretical part of contact with the archaeological pieces and the museum's resources, and a practical experimentation phase.
We have a programme of visits-workshops for the different educational cycles (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education and Baccalaureate) of each of the historical stages present in the museum and in the Archaeological Parks. We also have Thematic Workshops.
The workshop visits will be supported by educational material prepared by the MARQ Educational Office. The aim is to provide students with tools to help them understand the visit.
Mediante un recorrido cronológico a través de los restos materiales, etnográficos y suntuarios de las diferentes culturas que poblaron la provincia de Alicante, desde la Prehistoria hasta el siglo XX, distribuidos en cinco salas: PREHISTORIA, CULTURA IBERA, CULTURA ROMANA, EDAD MEDIA Y SALA MODERNA Y CONTEMPORÁNEA, se conforma una nueva visión de la arqueología. Este recorrido se completa con tres
salas temáticas mediante las cuales los visitantes pueden conocer el método empleado en las excavaciones arqueológicas a través de reproducciones que le permiten viajar a un abrigo de montaña, al claustro de una catedral o las profundidades marinas, ilustrándose en la ARQUEOLOGÍA DE CAMPO, ARQUEOLOGÍA URBANA y ARQUEOLOGÍA SUBACUÁTICA.

EL TOSSAL DE MANISES
(la antigua LUCENTUM)
La Albufereta-Alicante
El Tossal de Manises, en la Albufereta de Alicante, es un yacimiento arqueológico de la ciudad romana de LUCENTUM asentada sobre un poblado ibérico. Es uno de los
yacimientos arqueológicos más importantes de la Comunitat Valenciana que fue declarado Monumento Histórico-Artístico en el año 1961. Conserva íntegra toda la superficie urbana ( 30.000 m2) al interior de las murallas. Su visita permite comprender como era la ciudad romana hace 2.200 años con su foro, dos termas ,las tabernae, la reforma de la Puerta Oriental así como otras construcciones características del urbanismo romano.

The occupation of the site is very extensive, but discontinuous. It has been occupied by four different cultures: the Chalcolithic, the Bronze Age, the Iberian and the Roman. Throughout the visit, remains from all of them can be seen, but most of the information and structures correspond to the Iberian settlement from the 4th and 3rd centuries BC. It is an important commercial enclave, a distributor of goods from other parts of the Mediterranean, and a centre for the production of salted fish and wine.
