THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE FRIGATE MERCEDES. REASON IN THE FACE OF DESPOILMENT. A CULTURAL TREASURE RECOVERED

Catalogue of the exhibition which, under this same title, reviews the historical context of the sinking of the frigate Mercedes on 5 October 1804 after an attack by an English flotilla in waters near the Bay of Cadiz, and also the legal battle waged by the Spanish State for the recovery of its remains, removed from the wreck in 2007 by the "treasure hunting" company Odissey and taken to the United States, where it was intended to sell what had been plundered.
