The 13th edition of the summer activities campaign of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante. This 2017, it includes eight weeks between 3 July and 25 August.
With the recent "landing" of the Mayas in Alicante, the MARQ offers you a new summer campaign where most of the proposed activities will revolve around this Mesoamerican civilisation and its lost cities, without forgetting other topics about our history represented in the permanent exhibition halls and archaeological sites managed by the MARQ.
WHEN? In this edition we have one more week of activities, 8 in total between July and August. From Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 2pm.
- 1st week: 3 to 7 July
- 2nd week: from 10 to 14 July
- 3rd week: 17 to 21 July
- 4th week: 24-28 July
- 5th week: 31 July to 4 August
- Week 6: 7 to 11 August
- 7th week: 15 to 18 August
- 8th week: 21 to 25 August

WORKSHOPS AND GAMES
Mayan pyramid, glyph workshop, Mayan pottery workshop (making and decoration), ball game, mask workshop, ear-ring workshop, painting workshop, clue game: the search for the Mayan city, Mayan calendar workshop, figurine modelling workshop, game: Mayan dance, excavation workshop: discover the enigmas of the Mayan remains.
In short, the MARQ aims to make its museum known in a dynamic and participative way, through games, workshops and animation, identify and value the continuous encounters between cultures throughout history, recognise the function of archaeology as a vehicle for historical knowledge, value and protect Historical, Cultural, Environmental and Archaeological Heritage, encourage teamwork and cooperation between colleagues, learn about the main aspects of Mayan culture and much more, and all this...HAVING FUN TO TOPEEE!!!
