Collective Catalogue of Spanish Bibliographic Heritage

As of this week the MARQ Library is now part of the Collective Catalogue of Spanish Bibliographic Heritage of the Ministry of Culture.

The aim of this Catalogue is to describe and locate the books and other bibliographic collections belonging to Spanish public or private libraries which, due to their antiquity, uniqueness or wealth, form part of Spanish Historical Heritage.

At present, most of the records describe different editions of works printed between the 15th and 20th centuries (up to 1958), as well as the specific copies of these editions existing in Spanish libraries. The MARQ Library is made up of 41998 copies, of which 1634 belong to the Old Collection and which will be progressively incorporated into this Catalogue.

We consider this to be of enormous importance, as it highlights the extraordinary wealth of the holdings of this library and the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, which contains it.
