The Training Course on the Heritage of the Huerta de Alicante closes with more than 60 participants connected

A total of 63 people, including teachers and the general public, followed the lectures and talks organised online by the CV-MARQ Foundation and the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, under the direction of the archaeologist José Luis Menéndez. The course, entitled title L'Horta d'Alacant. Testimonies of a living culture, was held from 13 to 29 April and has also aroused interest outside our province, with connections even from Jaén and Ciudad Real; teachers from pre-school, secondary and vocational training have taken part in it.

The extraordinary wealth of heritage in the Huerta of Alicante is an inexhaustible source of knowledge for delving into the history of our province and this initiative places the MARQ Foundation and the Museum at the forefront of the institutions involved in the conservation of the heritage of the Huerta, a space that is now in vogue, with a handful of projects underway, such as the World Heritage Commission reopened by the Alicante City Council with the Tibi Reservoir as its flagship, the Monnegre Green Corridor project in which the Alicante Provincial Council is actively participating with resources and investment, or the Cultural Centre project in the Ansaldo Tower, which has been carried out by the government team of the Sant Joan Town Council.

These training sessions are the second edition of a project initiated in 2019 and have the official recognition of the Consellería de Educación, Cultura y Deporte. The great acceptance obtained both among teachers and among the general public who have participated in this edition, guarantees its continuity and very probably, the edition of a volume in paper that gathers the interesting conferences given and contributes to put in value the heritage that the Huerta de Alicante treasures.
