The Archaeological Museum of Alicante and the sites of the Tossal de Manises -Lucentum-and La Illeta dels Banyets -El Campello- will celebrate Open Days the next 9 and 12 of this month on the occasion of the feast of the 9 d'Octubre and of the Columbus Day. The opening hours of the three enclaves, with free entrywill be from 10:00 to 14:00 hourswhile the Almudaina Almohad Tower will also open its facilities free of charge during the two-day 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..
The public who come to MARQ will be able to see first-hand the contents of the permanent collection of the centreas well as the temporary exhibition"Lords of Heaven and Earth. China in the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD)"which is broken down by block the story,customs and secrets of this dynastic period, characterised by its great political influence, economic flourishing and cultural development through 256 pieces,many of them unpublished. Also on display is the exhibition "Wine in Alicante" which offers a 2,600-year archaeological journey through the history and evolution of wine in the province, and "Deltebre I. History of a shipwreck".The exhibition is made up of more than a hundred objects salvaged from an English navy ship that sank at the mouth of the Ebro in 1813.
