From today until Sunday 17th March, the MARQ halls will remain open during their usual opening hours to show all the people of Alicante and our visitors, the magnificent exhibition Iran. Cradle of Civilisations. An ambitious exhibition that traces the trajectory of one of the most remote and prolific cultures in history through 195 pieces, some of them exhibited outside Iranian soil for the first time and many from World Heritage sites.
The exhibition, set up in three rooms, takes an extensive look at the history of Iran, the origin of one of the world's oldest civilisations, ranging from the first human presence in the area some 300,000 years ago to Islamisation in the 18th century AD.
In addition to the great richness and archaeological value of the pieces that make up this collection of Islamic art on loan from the National Museum of Iran, the magnificent staging designed by the architect Rosa Fernández, who has managed to enhance, even more if possible, the beauty of some of the works with a truly spectacular staging, is particularly noteworthy.
Undoubtedly, an exhibition not to be missed. Iran. Cradle of Civilisations will be on display at MARQ until 1 September.
