The extensive programme of activities designed by the CV-MARQ Foundation to commemorate the IWD could not have been better received by the public. Over the weekend of 22 and 23 May, a total of 796 people enjoyed the guided tours, dramatised visits, traditional dances and educational workshops given at the Museum, at the Tossal de Manises Lucentum site, the Illeta dels Banyets and, for the first time, at the Torre Juana, a marvellous fortification in the Alicante market garden.
A programme designed for the whole family and aimed at getting to know the rich historical, archaeological and environmental heritage of the Huerta de Alicante, with the objective of highlighting an important part of our heritage and cultural landscape: the towers of the Huerta, farms and farmhouses, recreational farms, hydraulic infrastructures, historical paths ....
This year 2021 the DIM has been developed under the motto "The Future of Museums: Reclaiming and Reimagining", and its celebration around the world invites museums, museum professionals and communities to create, imagine and share new practices of (co-)value creation, new business models for cultural institutions and innovative solutions to today's social, economic and environmental challenges.
Thanks to the people of Alicante and to those who visit us for experiencing these exciting cultural days with MARQ.
