The MARQ continues with the itinerancy of 'Guardians of Stone', which comes to Cocentaina to coincide with the Fira de Tots Sants (Saint John's Day Fair)

 

 

   Guardians of Stone'. is not a fixed content exhibition, it was born with the intention of growing over the years. roaming and, in line with this objective, has come to Cocentaina where it will remain until 28 January 2018 in the Central Exhibition Hall of the Palau Comtal. On this occasion, the exhibition features specific information of the investigations carried out in various buildings and constructions in the municipality.

 

         The MARQtogether with the head of the Museu del Palau and the Heritage technician, the archaeologist Elisa Domenechhas organised the information of these new contents that offer information on the Palau Comtal, the medieval walled enclosure and the Penella and Cocentaina Castlesone of the monumental fortification and defence complexes most important in the province.

 

    In addition, the original exhibition design uses the new technologies to bring its contents closer to all audiences, and therefore includes a model of the province with a selection of the fortifications included in the exhibition, which have been manufactured with a 3D printer. In addition, and in order to generate a greater accessibility and the use of the visit for all groups, the following are used QR codes to expand the information by directing the visitor to the MARQ website and incorporates adapted elements that help to improve understanding of the exhibition. To this end, the project has raised supports and QR codes, making the exhibition fully accessible thanks to the intense collaboration between the MARQ team and the ONCE and the Fesord Foundation.

   On the other hand, the itinerary in Cocentaina will allow us to see exclusive audiovisual productions. In the first one, the different routes through the images of our stone guardians. The second audiovisual, which closes the visit, is a tribute to the long history of productions of the Image Department of the Diputación de Alicante.

 

   Since it was inaugurated at MARQ in December 2015, Stone Guardians has had seven tours -Villena, Guardamar, Xixona, Orihuela, Crevillente, Calpe and La Vila.- before arriving at Cocentaina, having been seen by around 30,000 people28,399, a figure that will certainly be exceeded during the course of the year.
