MARQ, double finalist in the 2nd Archaeological Film Festival

The Archaeological Museum of Alicante has managed to place two short films in the final phase of the second edition of the Archaeological Film Festival of Castilla y León. These are the films "Exposición Vikingos Guerreros del Norte", directed by Gustavo Vilches, and "El Reino de la Sal. 7,000 years of Hallstatt", by Domingo Rodes. In the competition to win the Viriato de Oro in the Short Film category, they will compete against two other productions, the British "Quivira Conquistadors" and the Portuguese "Romanizaçao - Goberno e território". The Jury will announce its verdict on the closing day, to be held at the Teatro Principal in Zamora on 7 May.

The exhibition "Vikings. Warriors of the North. Giants of the Sea", to which one of the finalist short films refers, can be visited at the MARQ, the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, until Sunday 5 March, when it will end its stay in our country with an open day.

The II Festival de Cine Arqueológico de Castilla y León has established itself as a meeting point for the presentation of short films and documentaries related to archaeology and history from all over the world, with the aim of attractively showing the public research projects, exhibitions, archaeological sites, conservation and preservation problems, etc., and thus contributing to the dissemination of heritage.
