The Guardamar del Segura Archaeological Museum welcomes until next October the exhibition "Coins.All sides of the story" comprising a valuable numismatic collection from the collections of the MARQ. The Member of Parliament for Culture, Juan Bautista RosellóHe was accompanied by the mayoress of the municipality, Carmen Verdúthis travelling exhibition, which, after its tour of Elche, Sant Vicent del Raspeig, Monforte del Cid, Alcoy and Eldanow comes to this town in the Vega Baja.
Through an interesting journey, the exhibition explains to the visitor the reasons for the emergence,disappearance and survival of the different monetary values and systems that have been used in the province throughout its history.. A total of 150 coins and four reproductions make up this collection, which has the cultural sponsorship of SUMA-Gestión Tributaria.
In addition, the exhibition pays special attention to the scientific content, as well as to the aesthetic and didactic aspects of this object, and devotes a space to the numismaticsan ancillary science of history that deals with the study of coins, its manufacturing systems, on collecting, on the phenomenon of the formation of coin hoards or their use as a historical documentation tool.
For the Guardamar exhibition, the local museum has also provided a graphic panel containing information about a coin found in the necropolis of Cabezo Lucero displayed therein.
The exhibition is completed with the publication of a didactic guidea audiovisual and various QR codes which allow visitors to consult detailed information on different types of coins via the museum's website and thus extend the content acquired during their visit.
