On Thursday 6th December, Spaniards commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Magna Carta and, as every year, the MARQ, the archaeological sites and monuments it manages, opened their doors so that locals and visitors alike could get to know the rich historical and archaeological heritage of our province free of charge. The sun and a more than pleasant temperature have accompanied this festive day and have favoured that a total of 719 people have visited this morning the MARQ, the Tossal de Manises, La Illeta dels Banyets and the Almudaina Tower.
In addition to the treasures that the MARQ holds on a permanent basis, until 5 January, those who enter its rooms will have the opportunity to see a fascinating exhibition that takes us back to the origins of art. It is about Rupestrian. The First SanctuariesThis exhibition, which has brought together 200 pieces from 19 Spanish museums, pays tribute to four decades of research, conservation and enhancement of rock art in our country, just twenty years after the inclusion of the Rock Art of the Mediterranean Arc of the Iberian Peninsula on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage list.
In the Sala Noble of the Library, also until 5 January, you can visit PlastiHistory of Humanity, a fun proposal that reviews the history of humanity through twenty scenes made with plasticine.
